Hive to Home Beeswax Products NS creates beeswax wraps as a sustainable, renewable, and friendly alternative to plastic.
Patterns, shapes, sizing, are flexible ranging from 2" to 60" and changing - because they're made by hand no two are exactly the same.
Fabric is washed with EcoSuds Soap Nuts, air dried, and ironed.
The wraps are made with:

beeswax from Nova Scotian farmers like Cosman & Whidden Nova Scotia Honey, which is located in the beautiful Annapolis Valley. This local beeswax gives the wraps a fresh yellow tint.

Beeswax wraps can be used as an easy alternative to plastic wrap, tinfoil, sandwich bags, and some plastic containers. They can cover food and household items - think toothbrushes when camping.
Wraps also smell delicious.
Use the warmth from your hands to form the wrap or fold and tie it.
Care:
Safe for the fridge or left out (avoid hot direct sunlight / direct heat/ raw meat. Heat can pull the wax off the wrap).
Rinse with room temp/ cold water.

If you’re going to use the warmth of your hands to form them around food, scrunching them up first helps.
Don’t be shy about crumpling them! Some people prefer to fold them around food and use the string the hold the wrap in place. I like to crumble mine right after I make them and then use the warmth of my hands to form them every time.
When the wax on the wrap has become tired or worn off, the wrap can be rewaxed or used as a reusable cotton kitchen wipe.

What are beeswax wraps?
Beeswax wraps are a reusable alternative to single use plastics, tinfoil, and baggies. Beeswax wraps avoid the waste, don't shed micro plastics (because they don't contain plastic), and are made from renewable resources. They are hard to hurt, easy to care for and store, reduce food waste and last for a long time.

How do I wash my Hive to Home beeswax wraps?
To be honest, I rarely wash mine. The jojoba oil has antibacterial and antiviral agents, and the beeswax has antibacterial agents. When it comes to washing your Hive to Home beeswax wraps there are two main ideas: wipe or wash. Wipe: you can wipe your wrap with a damp kitchen cloth. Say you put a juicy tomato in your wrap and the next day there is some juice sitting in the wrap, a quick wipe with a kitchen cloth and off you go. For washing your wrap, start with a small dollop of soap on the wrap, gently scrub the wrap with the palm of your hand (don't use anything abrasive on the wrap because it could hurt the wax) rinse the wrap with cold/cool/lukewarm water, not hot, and hang to dry. Why does the back of the tag on my wrap look funny?
The tags on Hive to Home products are made with post-consumer boxboard. What's that? Tags are made with cardboard like cereal boxes, cracker boxes, and other thin cardboard. The tags are stamped with a stamp made by R&M Stamps in Burnside, Nova Scotia.
Do you do large orders?
Yes! Hive to Home has a quick turn around and high quality of wraps for orders such as: corporate gifts, subscription boxes, mom group buys, and more.
What about custom tags?
Yes! If you would like your logo, business name, or a custom tag, it's possible. A stamp with your design will be made here in Nova Scotia, stamped on the recycled cardboard tags, and given to you with your order.
